My husband, Brett, and I have lived in Auburn for over 14 years, raising our five sons — Davis (Molly), Jack, Daxton, Grayson, and Cash. We are proud small business owners of The Spaid Company, a general construction business specializing in patio covers.
I have served on the Placer Union High School District Board of Trustees since 2022, including two years as Board President, where I’ve focused on transparency, student success, and strengthening the partnership between families and our schools.
I attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado, as a vocal performance major, and I continue to work professionally as a musician and vocalist. For more than 20 years, I have taught private voice and piano lessons, and I also perform locally with my band, MoonShine Crazy and Laineywood. Music has remained a meaningful part of my life, and it has strengthened my connection to students, families, and our broader community.

Our family’s roots run deep in the Placer Union High School District. Two of our sons are proud Placer High School graduates, and this fall we’ll welcome our third as an incoming freshman. Years ago, our oldest began his high school journey at Del Oro, giving us a unique appreciation for the strength and spirit across all PUHSD campuses. My husband serves as the Head Boys’ Wrestling Coach at Placer High, and it’s not uncommon for our family to spend several nights a week on campus—cheering on our student‑athletes and supporting the vibrant community that makes Placer special. Our youngest will one day join his brothers as a PUHSD alumnus, continuing our family’s legacy of engagement and pride.

Over the past four years, we’ve made meaningful progress in strengthening transparency, restoring accountability, and ensuring families have a real voice in the Placer Union High School District. When I first joined the board, I was often the lone conservative voice asking difficult questions and pushing for openness. Since then, our community has demanded a new direction—and together, we’ve reshaped the board to better reflect the values and expectations of our families.
I’m running again because this work is not finished.
I’ve been committed to moving the district away from closed‑door decision‑making and toward honest, accessible communication with parents. Families deserve a board that listens to them, not one that rubber‑stamps decisions without meaningful input. Strengthening transparency and rebuilding trust will remain central to my service.
My focus has always been on students—improving academics, ensuring fiscal responsibility, prioritizing school safety, and supporting families who felt unheard for far too long. The progress we’ve made is real, but maintaining it requires steady leadership and a continued commitment to putting students first.
Protecting the gains we’ve made for students, parents, and teachers requires vigilance and a board that remains accountable to the community it serves.
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and I’m running for re‑election to ensure our district continues moving forward—transparent, student‑focused, and responsive to the families who make our community strong.
